IPH Limited has today announced that Australian intellectual property (IP) firm, Pizzeys, will be integrated into Australian IP firm, Griffith Hack, strengthening Griffith Hack’s capability to provide effective and high quality IP services in Australia.
Both firms have been longstanding members of the IPH group, and the integration brings together complementary strengths to enhance services for international associates, corporate clients and innovators seeking IP protection in Australia. The integration will combine Pizzeys’ well-established client relationships with the scale, technical expertise and resources of a larger firm.
Founded in 1981, Pizzeys has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, personalised and responsive IP services, particularly for inbound work from international IP associates and global corporate clients. As for Griffith Hack, the firm is one of Australia’s leading intellectual property firms, bringing more than 120 years of history and expertise.
Dr Andrew Blattman, CEO of IPH, said the integration reflects the IPH group’s ongoing focus on strengthening its capabilities in key jurisdictions for global IP protection.
“Both firms have been valued members of our group for many years. Bringing them together strengthens Griffith Hack’s inbound practice in Australia by combining Pizzeys’ strong relationships with international associates with the depth and expertise of a larger team.”
Lars Koch, Managing Principal of Pizzeys, said the move represents an important step for the firm and its clients.
“We have always prided ourselves on delivering the highest quality IP services and now, as part of a larger firm, we can offer our clients even greater value and provide our people with enhanced career opportunities. Combining forces with Griffith Hack will assure the combined firm’s future success and growth in both Australia and internationally.”
Aaron Le Poidevin, Managing Director of Griffith Hack, welcomed the team from Pizzeys.
“Pizzeys has developed an excellent reputation for its work particularly with international associates on inbound IP matters. We are delighted to welcome their team
and clients and look forward to working together to further strengthen our capability in Australia.”
The integration is expected to complete on 1 July, when it is intended that Pizzeys will co-locate in Griffith Hack’s offices and the Pizzeys brand will be retired.
Until 1 July, Pizzeys and Griffith Hack will continue to operate as separate businesses, and independently with respect to the provision of attorney professional services.
